How can I have more fun at the Greek Folk Festival?

To coin Baltimore Tourism's slogan, "Get In On It!" Indeed, participate in the Greek Folk Festival hosted by the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church by becoming a festival volunteer.

Volunteering for the Greek Folk Festival is a GREAT way to experience the culture, traditions, and heritage of one of Maryland's largest and most authentically Greek communities. In addition, you get to be a part of the "back-stage" scene and fun of the Festival, while making an important contribution to the welfare and future of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.

We are always in need of dedicated and responsible volunteers to help maintain the high quality of this annual event, the most significant fundraiser the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church organizes and hosts.

What can I volunteer for?

There are MANY different types of jobs for which we need volunteers for before and during the Festival ranging from food preparation assistance and food service to operating church tours to selling toys and novelties. There are also many different options for WHEN you can volunteer.

Volunteer obligations:

Volunteers are the mainstays of the Greek Folk Festival -- without their dedication and effort, we could not put the Festival on each year and our Church would literally not survive. Each volunteer represents the "face" of the Greek Folk Festival and the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and thereby is an ambassador for our Church. The Greek Folk Festival expects that volunteers will be enthusiastic (it's hard not to be!), friendly, helpful, and professional at all times during their volunteer shifts. For individuals 21 years of age or older, the latter "obligation" does not preclude a shot of Ouzo or Metaxa to keep you cheerful! Of course, it will be important to report on time and ready to work to all shifts to which you have offered to serve.

How do I volunteer?
